Common Questions
Can I still get ACA subsidies?
If your employer's ICHRA is considered "affordable" (covers enough of your premium), you cannot receive ACA premium tax credits. However, if the ICHRA is not affordable for you, you can opt out and may qualify for marketplace subsidies instead.
What if I change jobs?
Your individual health insurance plan belongs to you. If you leave your employer, your coverage continues — you just pay the full premium yourself until your new employer offers benefits.
Can I cover my family?
Yes. Your employer may offer a family ICHRA allowance, or you can use your individual allowance toward a plan that covers your dependents.
